Most seniors have a lot of questions about what is involved and what to expect. Toll free telephone line which is staffed from 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday. Staff who answer the phone line are trained to offer support and to provide referrals to other agencies and programs available to support older adults who have experienced abuse. When the caller has a legal question or is looking for legal services the caller will be referred to staff from our legal programs
A peer driven education and outreach program for seniors by seniors. A Seniors Advisory Committee, made up of older adults, who have been trained to deliver fraud prevention workshops, are assisting BC CEAS to develop a new workshop on "How to Help a Friend Who Has Been Abused". The Seniors Advisory Committee will then play an important role in developing a "Train the Trainer" kit, and in training seniors from other areas of the province to deliver abuse prevention workshops in their local communities
